I was born and raised in South Texas in a city near Padre Island. I spent my weekends at the beach, and winters were mild and most definitely snow-free! Now that I live in the Midwest, I am having to adjust to the sub-freezing temperatures and rising snow drifts. I am not a snowbird, that’s for sure! I’m getting used to the cold, but I still love finding ways to warm up and enjoy the winter season as much as possible.
I’m a major fan of comfort food, but I have come to the conclusion that I am more of a baker than chef. So unless a crock pot is involved, dinner has to be quick and easy for me and my family! I’ve recently tried the Marie Callender’s Pot Pies, and holy moly. They are GOOD.
My favorite variety is the Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie. It has broccoli, tender chicken, and a cheese sauce inside of a flaky crust that is made from scratch. It’s AMAZING. Easily prepared and ready to eat quickly. My kind of comfort food! My kids liked this flavor as well, and they also liked the traditional Chicken Pot Pie. The next one I want to try is the Creamy Mushroom Chicken Pot Pie. The best part is that each person gets their own pot pie, so if my husband prefers the Honey Roasted Chicken Pot Pie, it’s super easy to serve him just what he wants! Major bonus? No preservatives! I don’t have the frozen food guilt with these!
