Sometimes I just don’t have it in me to eat a salad. Sometimes I’m just really busy. Sometimes I am so hungry I feel like I might eat an entire ice cream cake.
That’s when I bust out the blender and whip up this bad boy:
That, my friends, is the Mean Green Protein Machine. I saw the recipe on Pinterest and I had to give it a shot. I mean, for real? 350 calories, 10g fiber, 21g protein in a shake?! You’ve got my attention!
So here’s how you make it:
Toss the following into a blender:
1 sliced frozen banana
1 cup of fat free milk
1/2 cup of greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
4 cups of spinachRun the blender on liquify and make sure you get all the spinach pieces ground up. No one likes sneaky spinach coming up through your straw!
Okay, quit gagging. I swear to you that all you taste is creamy peanut butter and banana milkshake-y goodness, but you get the nutritional benefits of the protein filled dairy and the fiber of the spinach. It’s amazing!
I usually whip these up for breakfast. It’s easy, and it leaves me full and ready to go for the day. Try it. I double dog dare you.

How do you figure out WW points on something like this?
It all depends on what you use — different yogurts have different point values, etc. Whenever I need to figure out the WW points for a recipe, I calculate each ingredient’s Point/PointPlus value (whichever you follow), and then add the total. Here’s a good breakdown that’s similar to what I do: http://www.ehow.com/how_6128347_calculate-weight-watchers-points-recipe.html
Hope that helps!
Hi there! I am wondering- Fresh Spinach, Frozen Spinach? What type do you use?
