ReNew Life FitSmart Protein Shake Review

Now that the new year has been in full swing for a little over a week, it’s time to separate the die hards from the “resolution-ers” when it comes to weight loss. I know the gym parking lot here in town has been packed since the 1st, but it’s slowly dwindling down to the regulars only.

Which one are you? It takes 14 days to make a habit. Have you given it your all for the 10 days of 2012? Need something to help you make the transition to a healthier lifestyle?

Sometimes I can’t stand the thought of a salad for lunch, or another bowl of oatmeal or egg scramble for breakfast. Sometimes, I simply don’t have the time to whip up something nutritious! ReNew Life has a great tasting protein shake that boasts 10g fiber, 20g protein, and about 150 calories per serving. The best part is that I feel FULL. Truly. I have had the chocolate FitSmart shake for breakfast a few days each week since the last part of December, and it’s really one of the best meal replacement shakes I’ve had. I make it with 4 oz water, 4 oz fat free milk, some ice, and a drizzle (just a drizzle, I swear!) of sugar free chocolate syrup to give the flavor a boost. Toss that into the blender and I have a frothy, cool shake that could have come from a drive through with a fraction of the calories.

Experts say you should have a little post-workout protein to help your body recover. This is a perfect little shake to whip up after a run that you can just blend, grab, and go.

The taste is pretty stellar. Some protein shakes taste like chalk, but this one is pretty darn good. I do the chocolate syrup drizzle because I’m gluttonous ;). It could easily go without! There’s tons of possibilities with this, too. Throw in a banana or some peanut butter! It’s a really versatile meal replacement or supplement shake. Overall, I give it 9 out of 10 stars. The only reason I knocked it down a star was because I really wish I could drink it with a straight water blend, but the taste just doesn’t do it for me. I could use the calcium of the milk anyway ;)!

ReNew Life also has a great selection of probiotics, digestive health products and natural health supplements for you to check out. They are really a one-stop shop for anything you’ll need to get to feeling 100%. I’ve used other products from them before (the FiberSmart supplements were awesome!), and I’ve always been pleased with both their product and customer service.

You can buy the FitSmart Shake in chocolate or vanilla from ReNew Life for $35.99.

I was sent a product for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was given. All opinions are my own.

  1. How do you make your shake and how many points are in it?

What else do you eat for breakfast? I have the hardest time with this meal especially because my mornings are get up and go!

    Thanks

    • Hey Mahr! This particular shake is a ready-made one, Premier Protein. I won a bunch of it in a giveaway and I love it! I do oatmeal a lot, pancakes (vegan, whole wheat), eggs, cereal — lots of stuff!
