MyHOME $50 Best Buy Gift Card Giveaway

I’m sure you’ve seen all of the devastation in the south from the recent string of tornadoes. I can’t even begin to imagine the heart break and pain those families are going through. They have a long, tiring road of rebuilding ahead of them. While I’m sure (at least I hope!) they all had good homeowners or renters insurance, I can bet that many did not have a full home inventory of all of their possessions. I know I don’t! Looking around your home, you may not think you have a lot of “stuff”. Well let me tell you, YOU DO! I just moved across the country from a 1,300 square foot home. I filled a 26 foot moving truck to the brim with our stuff, and that was AFTER I donated three TONS (yes TONS) worth of items to goodwill.

There’s a new free  app available called MyHOME The app, from NAIC, lets you quickly photograph and capture images, descriptions, bar codes and serial numbers, and then stores them electronically for safekeeping. The app organizes information room by room and creates a back-up file for e-mail sharing. The app is available on both Android and iPhone devices, so there’s no excuse! This is an easy way to ensure you truly do get reimbursed for everything that you may lose should your home be consumed in a disaster. Here’s some simple steps you can take to get started on your home inventory.

MyHOME is offering a lucky Freckleberry Finds reader a $50 Best Buy gift card! Enter below.

  10. Pauline Milner says

I have done my home inventory list.

I have a lot of jewellery that is very special so I am sure to keep the inventory up to date.

It is also important not to store your inventory list in your home. If your home burns, so does the inventory list.

Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity. ~Pauline
