Recognizing a slippery slope
I feel like it started around Thanksgiving. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinner, but then the leftovers lingered. It’s been like a slow snowball effect…a pop tart here…a meal out there. It seemed mostly harmless, but I could see my weight loss slowing, and my appetite increasing. I’ve worked so long and so hard at getting my cravings under control, so it’s really hard to see myself giving in to them more often than I should. And of course, the cycle is vicious — I’m upset because I’m overeating, so I grab more food. It’s seriously such an addiction, and it’s difficult because it’s not like alcohol or drugs. You literally cannot live without food, so it’s a choice you have to make 3+ times a day. I can’t even explain how hard it is to make those choices. It seems ridiculous, but it’s real.
Finding ways to keep exercise fresh!
With all of those food hurdles looming, I’ve made the decision to refocus and find something new to help keep me active. I’ve been saving up Amazon gift codes for a month or so, and I bought myself a Christmas present! Check me out!
Look at me on my new bike, and there’s Maisy and Micah in their new trailer! I have a helmet on the way, don’t worry ;). We’ve had so much fun riding around our ‘hood, and I’m going to do my best to bike daily. It’s a great time for all of us!
The Weigh In
This week, I had a rough weigh in. For the first time since starting Nutrisystem, I’ve gained weight. I’m back up to 173.8, which is where I was the week before last. So I’m up .6 pounds. It’s not a huge amount — just enough to shock me into getting in gear! My total weight loss on Nutrisystem is 33.2 pounds so far.
Andrew has stayed the same this week — still holding strong at a 32 pound loss. I’m hoping my motivation to finish out this mission that we’ve started together rubs off on him!
