Nutrisystem Week 22: Finally. A Run! #NSNation #spon

I’ve revived one of my long-time favorite breakfast foods — the Double Chocolate Muffin! It’s so. good. Especially when you microwave it for about 10 seconds. The chocolate chips inside of it get nice and melty, and it is kind of reminiscent of a chocolate lava cake!

Twas the week before Christmas, and cookies were made…

…and dieters were wary — would they behave? 

My mom came to our house this weekend! She surprised us with a visit, and the kids didn’t know that she was coming until we picked her up at the airport. The looks on their faces were priceless!

As a kid (and still to this day!), my mom would make what she calls “edible Christmas cards” — a plate FULL of cookies, sweets and treats for her friends, neighbors, and family. Peanut Butter Blossoms, chocolate covered pretzels, peanut brittle, and the whole shebang. On her last night here, she made two of my favorite cookies. I’ve been good and only sampled a few, but man. Once I start, it’s so hard to stop!

Binge eating is so awful. It’s such a nasty little beast! I want to start a “days since” kind of count, kind of like the “It’s been 43 days since our last on-site injury!” kind of thing. I am so driven by numbers and charts and progress graphs, so this might be another fun way of keeping myself on track!

I fiiiiiinally went for a run!

and oh my JEEVES it felt good! I had my new headphones (that I originally got for Andrew, but I’m so stealing them), and my mom was here to watch the kids, so I got to run without anyone else — no stroller, no biking kids. It’s seriously one of the finer luxuries in my life. I get 45 minutes to myself, and I just get to run. You might’ve seen this pic on my other post about my new outfit, but here I am again! I look a little dreadful in the face, though. It was cold and early!

I’m sure all the people in my subdivision were looking at me weird. I was listening to the workout station on Pandora, and it’s set up so that the beats per minute of all the songs are good for cardio. I was totally fist pumping and running with my arms up in the air. I saw a mom’s group working out in the park, and that was cool! We exchanged waves of commiseration and encouragement. It made me smile :).

Here are my stats for my run:

12.18Kind of wonky splits, huh? I walked a lot of mile 1 to warm up — literally. It was so cold! I know, I know, I’m a wuss. It was only in the 50s or so.

I’m going to try and get my pace to level out in time for the Color Run next month. It’ll be my first “real” 5k! I run 3.1 miles all the time (like yesterday!), but I haven’t done it in a race setting. I’m going to run with a local reader, too! Don’t worry, we’ll take pictures!

The Weigh In

This week, I weighed in at 171.8 pounds. That’s a .2 pound loss for the week! I haven’t been perfect with my eating, so I knew that my number wouldn’t be stellar. But it’s not bad! I’ve lost a total of 35.2 pounds on Nutrisystem!

Andrew is finicky about his weight — he doesn’t “count” fractions of a pound. So to him, he didn’t lose or gain this week. I always tell him that I take every single ounce of weight loss I can get, haha! He’s lost a total of 33 pounds on Nutrisystem!
