I am always in a hurry when lunch time rolls around. I’ll have just finished combating the carpool lanes at Emma’s school, and I have three hungry kids on my hands. Without a doubt, they always get fed first. This is partly because I need to feed them to keep them from getting bossy (ha!), and partly because I like to have salads for lunch, but it takes forever to make them!
I hit up Walmart to find some quick lunch solutions (see my entire shop here). I’d seen some advertisements for these new Lean Cuisine Salad Additions, and I wanted to give them a try. I love the concept — just add in lettuce and bam, salad! The lettuce is the easy part — grilling the chicken, chopping the veggies, and acquiring all of the fancy add-ins is what takes forever.
Found them! We hit up the frozen aisle, and they were in there with the frozen entrees, right next to the other Lean Cuisine meals. There’s four different varieties:
- Asian-Style Chicken Salad
- Bistro Chicken Salad
- Cranberry & Chicken Salad
- Southwest-Style Chicken Salad
I picked up one of each, because I wanted to see which I would like the best. Can’t knock any of them until you try it, right?
Look at everything that’s included! Chicken, veggies, dressing, and a topper. It would take me forever (or a ton of once a week prep work!) to get all of that together, bagged, and prepped for a week’s worth of lunches! The first one I tried was the Bistro Chicken Salad variation. Try and tell me that this isn’t a gorgeous salad:
The best part? It was amazing! I’m not even a bell pepper fan, but these didn’t bug me too much! I loved the dressing — like LOVE loved it. So yum! I saved a ton of time, had a “fancy salad” as Micah called it, and saved some of my sanity in the process :). Win/win!

I tried the Asian Style Chicken first and I agree, their dressings are so yummy! I loved the fresh veggies and adding my own salad mix. Mmm… now I am going to have to try this one, too. Your pics are making me so hungry before lunch time.
Your salad looks so good, my tummy is rumbling!! I love red peppers, so I think the Bistro Chicken Salad would be the one I would love to try first. I keep hearing these salads are so delicious :)
