When you’re really ready to start taking charge of what you’re putting into your body, you start looking closely at portion sizing and exact measurements. It’s easy to measure liquid, of course — just pour it into a measuring cup! But how do you know exactly how much turkey you’re putting on your sandwich? Or how much fruit you’re having for your snack? You need a great kitchen scale!
I actually weigh in on an EatSmart bathroom scale, so when I needed to get a kitchen scale, I knew where to look! EatSmart Products has introduced a new kitchen scale that I’ve totally fallen in love with. Introducing the new EatSmart Precision Elite Digital Kitchen Scale!
First of all, the Precision Elite scale is so pretty! It fits in with my other stainless steel appliances, and I don’t mind having it sit out on my counter. I love that! The scale has a big digital readout that’s also backlit, so you can easily read your measurements. The weighing surface is quite large, and it can fit bowls or plates as well as bare food. But I don’t want to weigh the bowl! Use the tare feature to subtract the weight of your dish. So cool, man.
I use it mostly to measure out ingredients. I made spaghetti the other day and weighed out my ground turkey and my pasta using this scale! When lunch time rolls around, I load up my turkey and know exactly how much I’m eating.
I also love that the scale can measure in grams, ounces, kilograms, and pounds. Some nutrition labels measure in grams, so it saves some brain cells and does the converting for me ;). It can weigh up to 15 pounds, too! Micah has had a really fun time weighing different foods and seeing what a cup of water weighs, or what his favorite granola bar weighs. It’s his job to measure out the ingredients for my morning omelet!
When the delivery guy dropped this off, I was about to head out for a run, but I didn’t want to wait to open it. I opened it up to read about it, and I realized that they included the AAA batteries that it needs to run. I love when batteries come with the product! There’s nothing worse than getting a brand new gadget only to realize you can’t use it straight away because you don’t have the right batteries. Bonus points for EatSmart!
EatSmart also makes bathroom and luggage scales that you should check out, too. Like I said, I weigh in on an EatSmart bathroom scale, and I trust it 100%!
You can buy an EatSmart Precision Elite Digital Kitchen Scale for $39.95. Worth every single penny, if you ask me. I use mine many times a day, and it’s invaluable if you are serious about knowing how much food you put into your body.
One lucky Freckleberry Finds reader will win an EatSmart Precision Elite Digital Kitchen Scale! Open to the US. Ends 2/22/13 at 11:59 PM ET.
