That’s what I said when I opened up my door to see the new Step2 Easy Turn Coupe. “But I have a coupe for my kids!” you might be saying. Oh no, my friends. You don’t have a coupe like this. Step2 is at the 2013 Toy Fair this weekend debuting the new Easy Turn Coupe, and in celebration, I’m going to give you guys a sneaky peek!
This bad boy is a lovechild of two really incredible products. I’ve always seen parents pushing their kiddos around in ride-ons like the Sportster, but the Easy Turn Coupe brings it to another level. I love the idea of a pretend car, but I didn’t like that I couldn’t see my kid! That’s the biggest plus (for me) about the Easy Turn Coupe — the see through roof!
Assembly was pretty simple, and Andrew had it put together in about an hour or so. The kids were itching to get into it, and we had to struggle to keep them out of it while it wasn’t fully assembled, haha!
Here’s some of my fave features:
- See Through Roof (obvs!)
- Cup holders! This baby has two cup holders in back, and one in front!
- 360 degree swivel wheel for easy riding, turning, and maneuvering
- Parent handle. I. LOVE. THIS.
- Fun lime green color (boy or girl friendly!)
- Squeaky horn (My kids need to learn how to properly honk if they’re going to drive in the Phoenix metro!)
- Removable floor board. This is VITAL for folks with littles like me! Maisy (22 months) needs it so her feet don’t drag, but I can take it out for the big kids to be self propelled!
- Easy open front trunk for storage
We have replaced our jogging stroller for quick walks around the ‘hood, because Maisy prefers to “drive” around the block! It pushes easily, the kids get a kick out of racing her, and she feels like she’s in control. It was sometimes a battle getting her into a stroller (she spends a lot of time in there on my runs!), but if we ask her, “Maisy, do you want to drive your car?!” she hauls buns to her Easy Turn Coupe and starts turning the ignition.
So you want one, duh. And you want to help out kiddos with congenital heart defects. Let me tell you how!
The Step2 Company, LLC focuses its charitable efforts on programs designed to enhance the health and education of children while enriching their lives and their family experience. It is that mission that has made The Saving tiny hearts Society (StHS), an organization that funds life-saving grass roots research of congenital heart defects (CHD’s), a non-profit that Step2 has supported for many years.
Several years ago, Step2 learned that CHD’s are America’s #1 birth defect affecting over 40,000 babies every year. With that type of statistic, it should have come as no surprise when one of Step2’s own, Tena Crock, was impacted by a CHD.
At her 20 week ultrasound appointment, Crock believed that the biggest news she would receive that day was the gender of the little miracle growing in her tummy. Instead, she learned that her son had a complex CHD, double inlet left ventricle (single ventricle) among other issues. Because of the established relationship, Crock was able to reach out to the founders of StHS who offered her support and information while educating her about their important research efforts. Crock’s son underwent three heart surgeries and one heart catheterization in the first 7 months of life. He will have one more surgery before he is school aged, but for now, he is a happy and healthy toddler, enjoying the toys that Mommy brings him home from work.
Step2 would like to continue its support of the StHS with our “I ♥ Easy Turn Coupe” campaign. We will be donating Coupes to various children’s hospitals and will be inviting folks to watch a quick video on the Easy Turn Coupe and tell us what feature they ♥ most about it. For every comment received on the Easy Turn Coupe Facebook tab, Step2 will make a $1 donation to StHS.
That’s $1 EVERY SINGLE COMMENT on the Easy Turn Coupe Facebook tab! You can tell Step2 what you love most about the coupe on the Facebook tab here.
Check out my quick video review of the Easy Turn Coupe! I’m sorry it’s so quiet. We were playing outside when I filmed it!
