You’d think that I would be able to keep my computer running in tip top shape since it’s basically my bread and butter, right? Without my laptop, I can’t blog, I can’t work, and I can’t waste hours on Pinterest. OH THE HUMANITY!
I’ve had my laptop for about 2 years, and it’s kind of starting to die on me. Opening a program is like pulling teeth, stuff crashes all the time, and it’s just a mess. I have been eyeing new computers, but I knew that this one is probably fine — it just needs some cleaning up. I knew that Geek Squad could probably help me, so I decided to give them a try.
I didn’t know exactly what was wrong with my laptop, or what needed to be done, but I figured that’s why I’m calling the Geeks, right? Right! So I logged in to the Geek Squad site, and started a chat with an agent.
Pretty quickly, a chat box popped up!
Pretty soon, I was up and running! I was transferred to Kelly O., an agent who specialized in this area, and he initiated a Log Me In session so he could remotely tune up my computer. I followed his easy instructions and he took over! It was simple. I just plugged in my laptop and headed out for a run. I came back, and the computer had been restarted by Kelly, and somehow we lost the Log Me In connection. I thought maybe he had finished his work, but my phone rang a few seconds later. Kelly was on the other end of the line, and asked me to restart my computer so that we could get the Log Me In session back up and running.
While my computer restarted, he told me that he had found a few things that could be potentially harmful to my computer, and he was working on making sure everything was safe and sound. The entire process took about 3 hours, but it was really low-key on my end. The only thing I had to do was restart the computer that once! Kelly was really courteous, and made the process simple.
So now I have a new anti-virus program that is better than the one I had previously, and my laptop is nice and healthy :). I’m really pleased with the service I received, and I’m glad I didn’t buy a new laptop!
