Pull up a seat, Freckleberries. It’s story time.
So when I was about 12 or so, my one true love was the band *NSYNC. I had the posters. I bought the magazines with the exclusive interviews. I knew all the lyrics to all the songs. And most importantly, I did not fraternize with Backstreet Boy fans, because that was unforgivable. Turns out, *NSYNC was going to be playing in a city about 2.5 hours away. My mom did what all moms would do, and bought tickets for me, my sister, and my best friend. We were flipping. out! We were going to breathe the same air as Lance, Joey, Chris, JC, and Justin! Girl, get me my hair crimper and find my Skechers, ’cause I need to look fly for this.
The day of the concert came, and my mom loaded all of us up in her SUV and made the drive. Surely, we made her listen to Bye, Bye, Bye the entire way. I want to say we even decorated the windows of the car with car chalk. Looking back, I owe my mom a thank you for tolerating us. We arrived, got seated, and prepared our disposable cameras to take pictures of our dreamboats.
The lights dimmed.
The laser light show started.
And then, the boys made their grand entrance. It was glorious! But we quickly noticed something was wrong. Where was the main heartthrob, Justin?! He wasn’t on stage! One of the other guys made an announcement and said that Justin was sick and wouldn’t be performing tonight.
Devastated doesn’t even begin to describe how the girls and I felt. Crushed!
It was still a great show, and we had such a great time. And I’m still a loyal JT fan to this day. He’s super talented, and you can’t help but get into the music! He put out his first CD in 7 years just last week — The 20/20 Experience — and you know I went and snatched up that album!
Gah! Love the cover art.
I swear that I didn’t set this up! These two former love birds just can’t stay away ;).
I busted it open right there in the parking lot! I can’t wait to listen to it during my commute on Monday!
I absolutely love the CD styling. It looks like a vinyl record! So awesome.
I can definitely say I’ve come full circle with the JT love. I think I’ll be a fan forever, even though I still haven’t seen him in concert ;). Want to see the rest of my shop? Check it out here! Be sure to stay in touch with Justin on Twitter and on Facebook! Ready to buy The 20/20 Experience for yourself? You can pick one up here!
