It’s Challenge Time. #NoSodaSummer

It’s something that I’ve been trying to quit for a really, really long time. Last fall, I got into a really great swing and went soda-free. I didn’t really miss it, and I would have it on occasion when we went out to eat. Otherwise, it was water for me! I felt great, and I know that I was just healthier then, you know?

Around Christmas time (oh y’know, nearly 6 months ago), I got back into the soda habit, and I am fully addicted again. It’s so hard for me to say no to a fizzy fountain drink! Diet Dr. Pepper is my BFF, and I could drink it all day long if I let myself. So bad for me.

But then I started reading up on the junk they stick in soda.

Why Soda Is Bad Infographic

So that’s pretty bad, yeah. But then just yesterday, I read an article that stated that diet soda is as bad for your teeth as methamphetamine or crack cocaine. HOLD UP, Y’ALL.

Those who drink large amounts of diet soda for long periods of time often experience tooth erosion, rotting, decay and other types of oral damage – in many cases just as bad or worse as the effects experienced by long-term drug users, according to a new study published in the journal General Dentistry.

So it’s clearly bad for your insides. It’s puts your teeth on-par with a drug addicts’. These are facts and findings that we shouldn’t take lightly, guys. So it’s high time I knock this ish off, isn’t it?

I’m challenging you to making this summer a #NoSodaSummer!

#NoSodaSummer It’s not going to be easy, but I want to really pledge that I will not drink soda this summer. At all. After all, I live in the flippin’ Sonoran Desert — you think I’d be more inclined to hydrate with the best stuff there is, right? I want you to join me on the No Soda Summer challenge!

  10. I just came across your page while looking for information about weight watchers. Your blog is super informative. I have ordered my weight watchers kit and will begin as soon as it arrives in the mail. In the mean time I am going to eat healthier. With that being said Im taking your challenge #NoSodaSummer !
