I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Reebok. I received a Famous Footwear gift card to purchase a pair of Reebok shoes to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
Way back when I was at my starting weight, I spent every last penny of an Amazon gift card on workout clothes — and that included the cheapest pair of running shoes I could find. I obviously didn’t even try them on; I just purchased the size I presumed I would need. It wasn’t all bad, really. Those $20 shoes (on super-duper clearance) carried me many, many miles. But now that I’m in the process of training for my first half marathon, it’s time to upgrade.
I headed to my local Famous Footwear store to check out the goods. I wanted to buy a fun pair of shoes, but obviously, fit and comfort were top priority. I need to take care of my feet! I’d never owned a pair of Reebok shoes before, but I’d heard good things. Emma came with me on the shopping trip, and she as the expert box grabber :). I ended up trying on two pairs that caught my eye — a pair of Smoothflex shoes (blue), and a pair of Zig Kicks (black).
They were both comparable in price (only a $10 difference between the two — $59.99 for the Smoothflex and $69.99 for the Zig Kicks), and I felt comfortable in both of them. I felt better in the Smoothflex pair, so I snatched those suckers up and headed to check out, but not after asking you guys’ opinion on Facebook and Instagram! Once I got to checkout, the clerk asked me for my rewards phone number. I didn’t have one, but she told me that if I signed up, I’d save 5% on my purchase and get coupons emailed to me. Uh, yeah! It was free to sign up and I saved some dough! Plus, the entire store is doing a BOGO1/2OFF sale right now, so I will probably be heading back to pick up some shoes for Emma and Micah!
In LOVE with my new Reebok Smoothflex shoes!
I literally just finished my first run with my new shoes, and I love them so far! It’s amazing what a good pair of shoes will do for your runs — my knees feel better, my arches don’t ache, and I think I looked pretty cute ;).
I’m really pleased with them. Can’t wait to log some serious mileage on these bad boys!
