New LIFE Resolution #FightFatTalk

It’s New Year’s eve! In a few hours, the big glittery ball is going to drop, and bajillions of people will kiss in Times Square. The confetti will settle, and noisemakers will be cast by the wayside. The next morning, people will go to their calendars (do people still use real paper calendars anymore? I do!) and turn the page from December 2013 to January 2014.

There’s something really clean, crisp, and fresh about January. Of course, you have the chance to make a change any day of the year, but there’s something freeing about a new calendar year, right?

Here’s the trick to sticking with your New Year’s resolution to lose weight:

Don’t do it for anyone else. When you’re the one waking up at 4:00 AM to work out, while the whole house is sleeping. You are only going to be able to rely on YOU. A support system is key, but the person making healthy choices every day wont be your kids, it wont be your spouse, and it wont be your family. It’s you.


So here’s my question: Women, if we are the key to our own success, why do we tear ourselves down? You can lose all the weight in the world, but if you don’t love yourself, you’re going to be weighed down forever.

Now, I’m not the pro at this. I’m far from perfect when it comes to loving my body. But can we all agree to start this year without tearing ourselves down? Let’s feed our body good food, put in the exercise we know we need, and be KIND to ourselves. Don’t make this New Year’s resolution a one month thing. Let’s make it a new LIFE. Deal? Deal.

Let’s make 2014 the year of getting fit, being healthy, and loving our bodies no matter what shape or size.
