Weigh in Wednesday: Losing Weight Twice Sucks + I’m Running 13.1 Miles on Sunday!

Just a little PSA for any of you who are thinking about slacking off and letting yourself go. When you gain back weight that you’ve already busted your ass to lose, the process is twice as hard, twice as emotionally trying, and twice as sucky.

With that out of the way, I think I can say that I’ve had an okay week! On Monday, my office started a weight loss challenge, and I signed up. There’s some stiff competition, and I might not have a chance at winning, but I’m doing my damnedest to hold my own. I’ve only had a handful of Diet Dr. Peppers this week, too!

I’ve been twiddling my thumbs with excitement and nerves (okay mostly nerves), because this Sunday is the PF Changs Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon! My second half! Again, I always feel like I could have trained better, and I know I could have, so I’m apprehensive about how I will do during this race. I’m going to stick with the 3:00 pace setter and hope for the best. I ran on Sunday, and kept a good pace to put me at the finish line around 2:56:

I ran the Women’s Running Half Marathon in 3:08:25, so my goal for this race is to set a new PR. I think I can do it! I’m so nervous about the last 5 miles. I always seem to tap out around mile 8 or 9, and the race course says there are hills at mile 10 and 11, so I’m nervous for that challenge to show up AFTER I’ve already hit the wall! Basically, I’m trying to stay positive and have fun. Be sure to check back next week for all of the race photos and a recap!

By the way — have I shown you guys my and my sister’s shirts for the race?!

Mean Girls, anyone? I feel so old knowing that that movie is ten years old!!

The Weigh In

Last Wednesday, I weighed in at 160.4. Today, I weighed in at 159.8. That gives me a loss of .6 pounds this week! That means I’m back at 47.6 pounds lost since July 2012. I’m eager to hit the fifty pound loss mark — again!

As always, you can check out all of my weight loss related posts here.

Hi there! I found your blog looking for some new weight loss/healthy living inspiration. I totally understand your frustration with losing the same weight more than once (I’m right there with you!). But it looks like you’ve got a great plan and you’re doing everything right. Best of luck on your race this weekend! I’m just impressed that you’re doing it at all!

Great job on the second time around. I know from personal experience how hard it is to lose the second and third time around. Much, much more of a struggle. And, the older you get, the harder still. Good luck on your half marathon. I would love to train and run in one someday. As soon as I move away from here, as we have six month winters and I hate the cold. Definitely planning to move south as soon as possible! Keep up the good work and thanks for the weight watcher info on your blog.
