Can I tell y’all what I’m super pumped about? I am so excited for a fun, themed run. My past two races have been serious, focused, and challenging 13.1 miles. This Saturday, I’m running in the Skirt Chaser 5k in Tempe!

Skirt Chaser 5K Tempe

It’s my second year running in the Skirt Chaser 5k, and I’m so thrilled to be back! It’s very unique in that there are two start times, based on gender. Following the rules of etiquette, ladies start first, and then the men follow three minutes later – hence the name “Skirt Chaser”. The race is hosted by Skirt Sports (which I LOVE, by the way – super huge fan of their stuff!), and it’s so neat to see a ton of ladies kicking asphalt in running skirts!

Here I am at last year’s Skirt Chaser (whoa, blonde hair flashback!):

The best part, to me, is that with an upgraded registration, you score a Skirt Sports running skirt! With the dreadfully hot summer up ahead, my running leggings are going to be retired, and I’m going to get a lot of miles out of my new skirt!

After  the chase, there’s a killer party! Everyone has a Four Peaks Brewing Company beer or Barefoot Wine & Bubbly drink in their hand, and Aioli Gourmet Burgers will be serving up some delish post-race food! They always have a great band, and this year is no exception with 80s cover band Metalhead!

If you’re going to be there, I’d love to meet up with you! I’ll be live tweeting and Instagramming throughout the day, so come find me!

  1. That looks like a lot of fun, we don’t have one where I live. I did 3 races last year (my first year running), I did a 10K, 5K Run for the Cure to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and a half-marathon at the end of October. I’ve been stuck with treadmill running all winter here in Quebec but as soon as the snow and ice are gone, I’ll be racing again. I would love to do the Color Run, that looks like a fun one too.
