Y’all. I just made the best flippin’ cream cheese dip I’ve ever had in my life. It was super easy and I even lightened it up a little! Lately, I’ve been ditching sugar and using SPLENDA no calorie sweetener, and I’ve been enjoying my favorite stuff with a little less guilt!
This week has been insane — Emma’s 7th birthday (OMG) was on Sunday, so it’s pretty much been a week of non-stop food. Birthday dinners, ice cream cake, and cookie cake have all gone down so far, and it’s only Wednesday. Tonight’s cookie cake was my breaking point. I just FEEL so gross from all of the indulgent meals I’ve been eating, so I decided to whip up something that still felt like a major cheat, but with SPLENDA, I was able to cut some calories from my treat!
Creamy Brown Sugar Spread with SPLENDA Brown Sugar
- 8 ounces light cream cheese (I used 1/3 fat)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
(seriously — that’s it!)
Add all ingredients and beat them with a hand mixer until well incorporated. Serve with apple slices (zero points!) or graham crackers. This is so kid friendly, it’s ridiculous. My kids had a slice of cookie cake for the birthday celebration, and then had some graham crackers and dip. They raved about it non-stop!
If I were to have used traditional brown sugar, this would’ve been a little bit out of reach for my points allowance. SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend is a little different from the granulated no calorie sweetener — for each cup of brown sugar, use just 1/2 cup of SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend. The original recipe called for 2/3 cup of brown sugar, and I was a little panicky because … math … but the SPLENDA bag had a great conversion chart right on the back of the bag! Smart cookies, those folks over at SPLENDA.
