Summer is basically over now, ain’t it? Labor day is right around the corner, so it’s time to bid farewell to summer-y things. Like popsicles. And water parks. And ratty clothes. My kids are looking pretty busted, not gonna lie. They’ve been at a summer camp type place that just LOOOOOVES to let them use tempera paint without smocks, and while I love having 90847501938475 pieces of butcher paper covered in blue, red, and yellow streaks, I do NOT love the idea of sending them to school in clothes covered in blue, red, and yellow streaks.
But here’s the problem. I work a lot, and that means that even in the summer, my day consists of commuting, dropping off kids at day camp, working, picking kids up, commuting again, and then mustering enough energy to feed the fam. Notice how there’s no time for massive back to school shopping trips? Yeah, me too. Especially since my kids’ school follows a year round schedule, so they went back to school in July. JULY. So I basically blinked and my kids were looking at me, asking for new backpacks and new shoes and the whole song and dance.
But time. I don’t have it.
But I do have the internet! Internet saves the day again. Online shopping, duh. I could pick out whatever the kids needed from the comfort of my own bed at like, 2:00 AM if I needed to.
So you know what I did? I shopped ’til I dropped and hit up Zappos.com. Know why? HERE’S WHY:
- Ridic fast shipping (I ordered on a Friday, got my goods on Monday!)
- That ridic fast shipping? FREE. Both ways, if you need to return something!
- 24 hour customer service line
- I bought everything I needed in one place
I really let the kids pick what they wanted. I mean, they had a TON to choose from, so if they picked something questionable, it was easy to redirect them!
Maisy always lucks out because she seems to be the easiest to shop for. I think it’s because she’s too young to have an opinion about her style! So I snagged a pair of Crocs for her and called it a day.
Once I can pin the kids down for longer than three seconds, I’ll post pics of them modeling their new duds. Seriously, I don’t know what I would have done this year if I didn’t just bite the bullet and do all of their shopping online. I guess when you have three in school, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my Zappos.com experience, and I definitely recommend it, y’all!
What do you guys do for BTS? In store? Online? Mix of both?
