Remember when I used to be all about eating well? Running? Losing weight and feeling better about myself?

Well, y’all. It’s time to get back to my roots.

Life has been pretty much batshit insane for the past year, but I can’t settle for excuses anymore. I’m so sick and tired of my excuses, and I’m ready to be proud of myself again. In the past two years, really, I’ve gained about 30 pounds. I’m sitting somewhere around 180 right now, and it just makes me so upset to think about all of the hard work that I put in from June 2012 to March 2013 when I went from 207 to 157. You guys, I worked SO. HARD. I sacrificed. I had discipline. I ran because I loved it, and because it made me feel good.

I’m ready to feel good again.

Here’s a side by side from my first half marathon in November of 2013, and from the Ragnar Del Sol in January of 2016.

Same tank top. Same running leggings (clearly I have a favorite running outfit, lol). But I am 30 pounds heavier. So here’s the  deal. I know how to lose weight. I’ve done it before! I’ve inspired tons of people! And now, I have the opportunity to prove it to myself that I can do it again, and I can come back stronger and faster than ever. I’m ready to live my life in a way that I deserve to — happy and healthy. 

So let’s lose it so we can live, y’all.

Similarly, those with mental illnesses need resources to help them be as healthy and happy as they can be. This is absolutely a time where I need to make a decision to turn my life back around, and I want to help other people while I do that. I am donating 100% of my winnings to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in order to give people who are faced with the deep darkness hope to press on, even when the odds seem stacked against them.
