I usually talk about a specific Nutrisystem food that I'm currently digging, but I wanted to highlight an oft overlooked part of the Nutrisystem plan -- the foods that you add in yourself. Each day, you've got to make the right choices when it comes to your meals. Nutrisystem makes it easy in that they've got great food that's easy to prepare, but to make your nutrition complete, you add in Power Fuels (egg, cheese, meat, yogurt --- proteins) and Smart Carbs (fruits, whole wheat bread, crackers -- carbs that are, well, smart!). Additionally, you eat 4 cups of veggies a day! It really helped that I could adjust my power fuels and smart carbs to fit my cravings. Need a sweet fix? Have an apple. Craving crunchy, salty things? I want to highlight the new foods that you can get on Nutrisystem! With the new year, Nutrisystem rolled out a ton of new food choices, and they look absolutely amazing. I'm sad that I wont be able to try these new goodies since next Wednesday will be my last Nutrisystem weigh in! With foods like Cinnamon Streusel Muffin, Turkey Sausage and Egg Muffin, and Broccoli and Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast, you wont feel like you're dieting! That looks so amazing! While my mother in law was in town for the holidays, she saw and tried some of my Nutrisystem foods. She ended up signing up for the Women's Core plan! She really loved the convenience of the bars for breakfast and lunch. She's a cosmetologist, so she's at her salon often. It'll be great for her to toss into her bag and head out the door! I've revived one of my long-time favorite breakfast foods -- the Double Chocolate Muffin! It's so. good. Especially when you microwave it for about 10 seconds. The chocolate chips inside of it get nice and melty, and it is kind of reminiscent of a chocolate lava cake! Have you guys noticed a recurring theme? I love breakfast, and I love chocolate. So this is basically my holy grail right here. Delicious, and easily tossed into my bag if I'm out and about! Twas the week before Christmas, and cookies were made... ...and dieters were wary -- would they behave?  My mom came to our house this weekend! She surprised us with a visit, and the kids didn't know that she was coming until we picked her up at the airport. The looks on their faces were priceless! Get jealous. When was the last time you had chocolate cheesecake, and it was on your diet plan? Never? Well take a peek at what I have defrosting in my fridge right now... That's my own little slice of heaven, waiting for me to finish dinner and enjoy it in little bites to make it last as looong as possible! I can't wait to try it! I'm loving these new frozen treats. Recognizing a slippery slope I feel like it started around Thanksgiving. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinner, but then the leftovers lingered. It's been like a slow snowball effect...a pop tart here...a meal out there. It seemed mostly harmless, but I could see my weight loss slowing, and my appetite increasing. I've worked so long and so hard at getting my cravings under control, so it's really hard to see myself giving in to them more often than I should. I've been enjoying some new breakfast items lately! You know those chewy granola bars that your kids eat? Ooh, I could probably go through a box in a sitting if I wasn't careful. Nutrisystem has their own (super yummy!) version! Meet the Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bar! I save them for those days when I know that I'm just going to need chocolate. I can't think of a better way to kick off my day than with some sweet chocolate! I survived Thanksgiving. Someone make me a t-shirt! Oh man. When you're on a mission to lose weight, you know that the most caloric day of the year is going to be tough. We got a new shipment of food in this week, and due to Hurricane Sandy causing outages and whatnot, I received a few different Nutrisystem items this month! I am eagerly awaiting the perfect moment to eat a Red Velvet Whoopie Pie. O.M.G. I. can't. WAIT! Going up in flames. This week. Man. Let me just be real. It sucked the big one. I've been hormonal, but my food issues started out innocently enough. We've been really busy this week, and we were often out and about around meal times. First, we had Whataburger for lunch. I got a burger and fries --- my first fast food in MONTHS. It was delicious. I decided that it was okay to have eaten it. After all, it was one meal, and I hadn't had it in forever. Two days later. I've been favoring my pantry meals lately, but the other day I ventured back into my freezer to see what Nutrisystem meal I should have for dinner. I was so excited to see a package of Ravioli Formaggio hiding in the back! It's one of my favorites, so I have no idea how I missed it before. It always feels like so much food! I put all of my food on to real plates, too, so that makes it feel a little bit fancier :). Accidently Awesome Last Chance Workout Yesterday morning, I took Emma to school as usual, and when we got home, I could hear a hissing sound. After dismissing not-that-irrational thoughts of a snake being in my garage, I deduced that it was the front passenger tire going flat. UGH! Emma is only in school half a day, and so that left me with very little time to figure out how I would pick her up.
