Weigh In Wednesday Week 43: Back on the Wagon

Weight Watchers App Screenshot

So if you read my post on Monday, you know that I've been having a rough go of it. There's nothing worse than being in a rut, and I've finally decided to pull myself out of it. And it. feels. awesome. Since Monday, I've tracked every bite of food that's gone into my mouth -- yes, even the two frozen margaritas I had on Tuesday. They were even more costly than my two shredded chicken soft tacos (which were so delish, by the way). It makes me feel safe knowing that even if I dip into my weekly points, I know exactly what I have left to 'spend'. If you're not tracking your food yet, do it! You will shock yourself! I don't have a whole lot to say tonight, because I pretty much spilled my guts on Monday, but I did take this screenshot today from my Weight Watchers app that I thought was pretty neat. I mean, yeah, it's kind of depressing to see that I've basically done nothing productive in over a month, but I told you I was in a funk! At any rate, it did help me a little to see … [Read more...]

I think Weight Watchers is trying to tell me something.

Freckleberry Fit Weight Watchers

It's no secret that I've been so insanely busy, and I've missed a lot of weekly weigh ins. A lot of it is because once I'm done with my "real" job, I am ready to turn off the computer and hang with my kids -- which is awesome! Summer is coming up and we bought a new pool for the backyard to tide us over until we (hopefully) put in an in-ground pool over the winter. The kids are growing gills, and I've loved every second of lounging in a floaty-thing, sipping either a Diet Dr. Pepper or some kind of mixed drink. This scenario is glorious, and it's really, truly, been a joy to just LIVE. But I've become entirely too sedentary over the past month. Yes, MONTH. I am laying it all out on the table. 100% of it. I haven't run since the Boston Marathon, on April 15. I ran a mile with my kids that day, but haven't laced up since. Nothing. Nada. And for the first week, it was just purely a scheduling issue. Andrew was travelling a lot, so I couldn't very well just leave the kids alone at … [Read more...]

GoodNites Bed Mats: The Difference We’ve Seen #bedwetting #sponsored

GoodNites Bed Mats | Freckleberry Fit

As you guys have read over the past two months, I've been a GoodNites bed mats ambassador. My 4 year old, Micah, has been using the bed mats each night. I've talked to you about the difference between bedwetting and potty training, but I wanted to tell you how it's made a difference in Micah's quality of sleep.   I don't want to give the wrong idea -- GoodNites Bed Mats won't make Micah stop wetting the bed. But they do help him get a better night's rest and gain a little bit of confidence along the way. There have been nights where he hasn't wet the bed, and when he wakes, he is so incredibly proud to show me that his mat is dry! Now with summer time on the way, he's been drinking so much more water to stay hydrated. We've talked about trying to wake up at night if he needs to go potty, and to listen to his body. If he does have an accident at night, I'm glad that he has a GoodNites bed mat to both protect his bed and keep him dry. Dealing with bedwetting? Coupon … [Read more...]

Weigh In Wednesday Week 39: I’m baaaack! and I have NEWS!

Women's Running Half Marathon Scottsdale

I know you couldn't bear for me to be away for yet another week, right? ;) Well! I took a little breather, and am doing my best to make sure that I have enough hours in the day to work, be with my family, be a mom and wife, and also actually have time to WORK OUT so I can then BLOG about it! People tell me all the time, "I don't know how you do it!" Neither do I, folks. Neither. do. I. I've enjoyed being able to just live for the past three weeks, and though I was still around and posting for previous obligations, it was good to fall asleep when I wanted to, not after I was done working. Since I can't very well fit in three week's worth of updates in one post, I'm going to just kind of throw things at you, smorgasbord style. We went to Texas! I took full advantage of the new running views and went out for a quick run. We were only there for about 36 hours (really!), so I just did a quick 2 miles. Oh, and when I say quick, I kind of mean it: Hey-oh! I know that … [Read more...]

That time we drove 15 hours to go to dinner.

Freckleberry Fit

Time to blow the dust off of this bad boy, I think. I hesitate to even sit down to write this, because I know that I wont even know where to start. I last posted right before we took an incredibly impromptu trip to Texas to visit my family. So there -- that's where I'll start. It's a fun story, I promise. So my family has been friends with two other families since I was in the third grade. All of us kids were on the same Odyssey of the Mind team, and our friendship has withstood the test of time. We obviously have all gone on to have families of our own, and it's hard to keep in touch all of the time, but you never forget who your best friends are, right? Right. Anyway! So all three of our families were chatting on a Facebook thread on a Thursday. They were talking about how they all planned to meet at Cracker Barrel on Friday at 7:15. One person mentioned Andrew, saying "If you guys want to come, it'll be our treat!" All of my friends' parents still live in Texas, in my home … [Read more...]

#sponsored: #SprayEveryDrop with Clorox Smart Tube! #Giveaway

Clorox Smart Tube Technology

You've been there, I've been there. You're cleaning your kitchen counters, scrubbing away at crusty peanut butter from today's lunch, but you can't quite get the last little bit of cleaner to spray out of your bottle. It's maddening, really. I always end up just unscrewing the darn nozzle, and pouring the last bit out. But then it's a huge mess -- too much liquid, splashing every where. So then Clorox came upon a stroke of genius: What if the spray tube actually sucked up all of the liquid from the bottom of the bottle? And so, an idea was born. That idea turned into Smart Tube Technology! And let me tell you -- it's pretty cool. See the yellow stripe all the way down the left side? The tube is contoured to the side of the bottle, and runs down the whole length! That way it slurps up every drop. Hooray! But they didn't just stop at putting these tubes in Clorox Clean Up...that'd just be silly! Check it out, my dears: So Clorox, if ever you want to let other folks … [Read more...]

Keeping Our Bodies in Check with Probiotics from Provella #sponsored

Provella Logo

So each time you sit down for a meal, I can pretty much bet money that you're pestering your kids to eat their food ("Broccoli is good for you! Look! They're trees for tiny people!"), right? Right. But do you focus on what you're putting into YOUR body? I know that I do my best to eat right (with the occasional burger splurge), but I am sure that there's more I could be doing to make sure I have a healthy inside. I work out as often as I can, and I drink a lot of water. One thing I don't do, however, is take probiotics. I have always wanted to, but I just never made the leap to actually find some that fit my lifestyle and goals! Provella™ is specifically designed for women to promote digestive, feminine, and immune health.* It's taken once daily by mouth, and it's loaded with stuff that will help establish and maintain balance. What is flora imbalance? Flora imbalance occurs when "bad" bacteria outweigh the "good" bacteria. Flora imbalance can occur from many different … [Read more...]

A new part of our routine: GoodNites Bed Mats #sponsored

GoodNites Bed Mats | Freckleberry Fit

Tonight, our bedtime routine was one that we've been doing for the past few weeks. It wasn't too different from months ago -- we change into jammies, say our "I love you"s, and turn out the lights. But now, before Micah even climbs into bed, we put down a fresh GoodNites bed mat.   Potty Training vs. Bedwetting Micah is a just-turned-four-year-old who deals with nocturnal enuresis, or bedwetting, which is involuntary urination while asleep after the age at which bladder control usually occurs. It's different from potty training, though, and I want that to be clear. Potty training is the process of teaching a child to use the toilet. Micah's got that down, no problem. But at night, it's a totally different story. Nocturnal enuresis is something that a child cannot be trained out of, but will outgrow naturally. I posted a video a few weeks ago about how we've been giving GoodNites Bed Mats a try. We are still so very pleased with the product, and it's not only … [Read more...]
